I don't want to suggest that something has to be over 100 years old, or of a certain style, to be great furniture. A collector brought me the case to this jukebox in very rough condition. Most of these old machines saw very hard use and were abused horribly. Much of the veneer I was able to glue back down again, and some of it I had to replace. I had to replace the veneers on the top due to severe cigarette burns across the entire top.
This is one of four jukeboxes I have restored for an oral surgeon who has made this his hobby. I restore the cases; he does the insides. This includes all of the mechanical workings; he often travels around the country to swap meets to find the missing parts needed to make a complete machine. These are extremely handsome machines when they are restored. Some are worth a considerable amount of money, particularly certain models from the 50s that have become the rage for collectors in Japan.
